The Room: Why You Should(n’t) Watch It.

A film that follows the relationship of an engaged couple and their friends, and how their lives are impacted by friction within those relationships.

If you’ve heard of this film, you’ve heard that it is bad and…it is. Films like this, help you to appreciate the mediocre films as there are so many things that feel off in The Room’s construction that I don’t normally think of as being something that is get wrongable. For your bog-standard issues, there is basically no plot, almost no character development, bad dialogue, poor acting and terrible pacing with sex scenes every other scene in the first act that last 30% longer than is comfortable.

However, despite the laundry list of issues there were only a couple of times where I was bored the rest of the time, I was laughing at what felt like everything.

A truly impressive, unintentionally hilarious movie. The gold standard for “it’s so bad, it’s good”.
